At Heathlands Primary Academy, the safety and wellbeing of our children and community are our highest priority.
We ensure that pupils are regularly taught how to stay safe and how to report any concerns. This is achieved through:

  • PSHE lessons that embed safeguarding principles throughout the curriculum.
  • Termly standalone sessions that reinforce key messages and remind children of the importance of speaking up.
  • Worry Monsters in every classroom and office, where children can write down their concerns if they prefer not to speak directly. A member of staff will always follow up.
  • Five Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) who are available to support and respond promptly to any issues.

There are times where you or your children may need support outside of the school day, in non-emergency situations you can email the school directly via dsl@Heathlands.uwmat.co.uk

If it is an emergency, always contact 999.

If you are concerned about a child’s safety, you should raise this by contacting Birmingham Children’s Trust by clicking HERE
